Jazz Vocalist / Band

Performing a mixture of cool sophisticated jazz standards, swing and bossanova favourites, Liquid Jazz has been the highlight of many weddings, private functions and corporate events. Available as a solo singer or 5 piece band ( with drums / upright bass/ guitar & alto sax/keys player).

The repertoire includes numbers made popular by the original jazz divas like Sarah Vaughan, Billy Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, but they are often given a modern twist more in the style of Eva Cassidy , Gwyneth Herbert and Diana Krall.

Liquid Jazz is available in the South Coast area which would include Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury, Southampton, Reading, Basingstoke, Bristol, Bath, Winchester, Christchurch, Ringwood, Slough, Maidenhead, Devizes, Marlborough, Andover etc.

Liquid Jazz comes completely self contained with 1kw PA and stage lighting.

Introduced to jazz by her father as an antidote to the 80's pop she grew up listening to she remembers her father's favourite saying about his beloved jazz idols fondly " they've forgotten more than those musicians you listen to have ever known!"

Louise started her musical career at the age of 5 when she started to learn to play the electronic organ. After a period of playing keyboards for various Nottingham based bands she decided that singers had far more fun and had to lug far less equipment around! And so made the transition to backing and then lead singer in her early twenties.

Having been in bands covering just about every era from the 60's to the 00's, Louise was keen to take on a new challenge and started to cover some jazz songs, inspired by her favourite artists Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Eva Cassidy.

Having entertained audiences of up to 10,000 people as diverse as Lebanese night clubbers to music festival goers, Louise is a confident and charismatic entertainer with an engaging soulful and jazzy voice.

Louise's claims to fame include appearing on national TV with Dr Love and the Disco Divas , supporting the Bay City Rollers with Abba's Angels, appearing on the front cover of the Sunday Times Magazine and being supported by the Troggs

"The music performed by Liquid Jazz swings! The ballads are delivered by Louise beautifully and with sensitivity. Louise is a vivacious singer with a beautiful, rich voice. She sings the greatest of jazz tunes with her own unique, delightful style and with fresh interpretations. As a jazz vocalist, Louise is continually growing and adding to her repertoire." Mary-Ann Rudd

"At last the phone has stopped ringing and I have a minute to write you a message! We were absolutely thrilled with your performance on Saturday, and so was everyone else! Honestly, if it's possible, it was even better than we expected, and both Robert and I feel you surpassed yourself! Practically every phone call has heaped praise on you and how wonderful you were!" Mr and Mrs Errington, Anniversary Party

Louise has an excellent voice and a great sense of jazz feeling as well as a very attractive appearance - an extremely enjoyable combination!" John Warner.

Demo Tracks:
Don't go to strangers
Don't mean a thing
Blue skies

set 1:

don't get around much anymore
black coffee
I get a kick out of you
so nice
I've got you under my skin
kissing a fool
peel me a grape
god bless the child
stormy weather
don't go to strangers
my baby just cares for me
wade in the water
I put a spell on you

set 2

a night like this
a fine romance
east of the sun
it don't mean a thing
I can't give you anything but love
devil may care
fly me to the moon
get happy
how high the moon
blue skies
lullaby of birdland
cheek to cheek
love cats
I wish
I just wanna make love to you
